GE completes testing of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

GE Aerospace announced on Monday that they have completed testing of SAF on their 10th aircraft model.

Sustainable aviation fuel - SAF for short - is a type of liquid fuel being developed that is claimed to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 80%. It is produced from various sources, including waste oil and fats from cooking, for example.

Currently, GE aerospace engines power three out of four of the world's commercial flights, the company said.

This proves a great leap forward in humanity's race to sustainability and is definitely something to celebrate. Many other engine manufacturers are working towards the same goal, with many airlines committed to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050
